Soft Matter is an umbrella term for sciences concerned with topics ranging from textile materials, to fluid mechanics, granular distribution, biological materials and much more. Dr. Ronit Freeman is an expert on soft matter science at UNC and was instrumental in the success of the 2024 International Soft Matter Conference held from July 29-August 2 at the Raleigh Convention Center. Esteemed scientists from all around the world attended, gave talks, and presented their work at the lauded poster session.
Dr. Freeman is an acting Committee Chair for the Soft Matter Association of the Americas (SMAA), with Co-Chaired by faculty from NC State and Duke University.
