Detection of disease is crucial for both the treatment of the individual and the prevention of spread of contagions to others. When COVID hit, the Freeman Lab went into action and developed the GlycoGrip to be a detection tool that is able to function at low cost, general public accessible ease of use, and low maintanance that can function in less than ideal conditions. But what really sets the GlycoGrip apart from other developed COVID tests, is its versatility in that it can detect an array of viruses, so this technology is continually relevant with changing fields and mutations we may find in virology.
