We are happy to announce that two Undergraduates working in the Freeman Lab have received the Summer Award for Research-Intensive Courses (SARIC) for Undergraduate research this Summer 2020! Jade Dang will be using the award to explore fluorescent-based methods in probing the properties of peptide-DNA and catalytic material, while Dingyuan Liu will be tracking cell movement and morphology.
The Summer Award for Research-Intensive Courses is a tuition award designed to give students the opportunity to enroll in research-intensive courses during the summer session. The award covers in-state tuition for one three-hour research-intensive course for the student, and provides a stipend for faculty mentors teaching the mentored undergraduate research course.
A poster session will be arranged at the end of the summer/early fall in which students will present the results of their summer research. We look forward to seeing Jade and Dingyuan’s contributions, and congratulate them on their well-earned awards!
