The Freeman Lab is thrilled to announce that our own Hannah Wilkins, a junior at the University of North Carolina in the Chancellor’s Science scholar program, has won the 3rd Place Overall Poster Award at this year’s Summer Undergraduate Program Symposium.
UNC’s Summer Undergraduate Program is an opportunity for minority scholars to get a taste of academia at a graduate level. The Symposium and poster presentation is the culmination of this program, allowing the scholars to gain early experience in formally presenting their research.
Hannah is pursuing a degree in Biology and Hispanic Literature, with a minor in Chemistry. Her poster – titled ‘Approaches to Relieve Mucus Flake Burden in Cystic Fibrosis’ – explored different approaches to relieving symptoms in patients suffering from Cystic Fibrosis.
